Just like water, carbon cycles in and out of the atmosphere, soil, ocean, plants and animals. There has been a balance in this carbon cycle for thousands of years. This equilibrium was recently disturbed when a new source of carbon entered into the cycle. When we burn fossil fuels, we add roughly 4% more carbon to the atmosphere per year than it normally gets from the oceans, plants and soil.
The following pages on this drop down menu will graphically show you the carbon cycle and how by using biomass we can insert ourselves into the carbon cycle without adding additional carbon into the global ecosystem.
